September 27, 2025 - Raritan Township Community Day
On September 27th, Owlbert and One Voice staff enjoyed a fun end to summer at Raritan Township Community Day encouraging families to "Be a Buddy not a Bully"! We also taught kids that breathing while blowing bubbles and pinwheels is a great way to have fun and relieve stress at the same time. Parents received information about our Lock it Up! Hunterdon campaign, encouraging adults to monitor and secure alcohol in the home. Parents are the first line of prevention, in keeping our youth safe from substance misuse!
September 25, 2025 - One Voice of Hunterdon Participates in Narcan Save A Life Day
On Thursday, September 25, 2025, One Voice proudly joined the nationwide Narcan Save A Life Day, a public health initiative dedicated to addressing the opioid overdose crisis. As part of this effort, One Voice in partnership with Prevention Resources, distributed free naloxone, a nasal spray that can reverse opioid overdoses within minutes, at multiple locations throughout Hunterdon County, helping to equip the community with life-saving tools and knowledge.
For the first time, all 50 states participated, with over 500 events held across the country. The mission of Save a Life Day is to save lives, reduce stigma, build community trust and connect people to care and support.

One Voice and Owlbert were on hand at the community day and fundraiser Minds in Motion, presented by Hunterdon Health. This important event supports conversations focused on wellness and resilience, key protective factors in reducing substance misuse. Thank you to Hunterdon Health for the opportunity to join so many partners in prevention.
September 17, 2025 - Body, Mind, and Movement Classes Resume at The Salvation Army
A new semester of The Salvation Army afterschool programs began September 17th! One Voice Youth Outreach Coordinator, Amy Torres will be bringing the Music, Mind and Movement program to the kids every Wednesday, combining coping skills, stress relief and fun! Amy also brings art and other creative processes to the classes for an interactive learning experience. Prevention begins with learning appropriate skills to handle stressful situations, thank you Amy for all of your positive influence on the kids at The Salvation Army!

One Voice staff collaborated with United Way on their Start School Strong community days both in Lambertville and Flemington. Our Lock It Up Campain was the spark of many conversations. Youth eagerly shared their teachers' names and their favorite coping strategies. We appreciate the collaboration with United Way of Hunterdon!

One Voice was on hand at the Fisherman's Mark Back to School event on August 18th. This was a great opportunity to provide prevention materials for families and gather more information for Lock it Up! Hunterdon, a campaign aimed at reducing youth access to alcohol in the home.

On August 3rd, One Voice's very own Owlbert was invited to Sparkee's birthday party and ballgame at the Somerset Patriots stadium. The One Voice team came out to support Owlbert as he encouraged kids to "Make Wise Choices" and "Swing for Success". Thanks to our wonderful staff and interns who made this day extra special!

National Night Out - August 5, 2025
National Night Out, an annual event fostering community-police partnerships, was held on August 5th and One Voice was proud to participate in both the Readington and the Town of Clinton locations. Our team met many families, engaged with kids in fun Trivia and Plinko games and talked to parents about the new campaign Lock it Up! Hunterdon, encouraging parent to secure and monitor alcohol in the home. Adults were also encouraged to complete a survey on alcohol storage for the Lock It Up! Hunterdon campaign.

August 2025 - Spreading Wisdom and Kindness at the Hunterdon County Libraries
An introduction to Owlbert and his positive messages were spread throughout Hunterdon County through all of the libraries in the community. One Voice provided bookmarks, coloring books, crayons, pencils, and stickers all with Owlbert's positive messaging for the county's littlest readers. We received such great support from parents, librarians, and kids as we specifically reminded all to Make Wise Choices: "Be a Buddy Not a Bully" and "Never Take Medication That Doesn't Belong To You" At One Voice, we believe that education starts early and lasts a lifetime. Our partnership with Hunterdon County libraries reflects our ongoing commitment to reaching children where they are—physically, emotionally, and socially. With Owlbert leading the way, we’re proud to continue spreading wisdom, one wise choice at a time.
